COACHING FAQ’S

Just in case you skipped around my web site and have unanswered questions or perhaps I was unclear, here are a few you might like answered. If you have some questions not addressed, send me an email. Joan@PerfectLifestyleCoach.com

What is lifestyle coaching?

It is a process of setting directions for your future that will make you happy. It is easier to implement and achieve your highest goals with me, a confidential guide, as I am not part of your circle of friends and family. We will communicate over the telephone and through emails to make your dreams come true.

Why do I need lifestyle coaching?

Maybe you don’t. It’s like hiring a personal trainer to be physically fit, except with a loftier goal: to improve your success at getting your dreams, ambitions and goals met. Alone we can achieve success, but a coach takes the struggle out of the mountain climbing effort. Sometimes we get stuck and fail to implement our best-made intentions. With my help progress can be easier and fun, not hard work. Undoubtedly we all want happiness, the ultimate goal, but sometimes we fail to set the best goals for us based on our talents and our aspirations.

What would I talk about?

You might talk about career goals, retirement dreams, learning new talents, using current talents, relating better to others, or knowing yourself better. You might talk about meeting life transitions and challenges such as starting new work, moving to new places, getting married, getting divorced, having children, children leaving home or enjoying the freedom of retirement. The focus is on living fully in the present and planning for the future. You will not feel guilty about the past or worry about the future. If you set great goals, you can be have the best lifestyle, which I call perfection..

What is off limits to talk about?

Most topics are fair game. Here are a few exceptions: I will refer you to a sexual therapist for sexual questions, to a psychotherapist for undue anxiety, depression or other mental health issues, to a treatment program for substance or domestic abuse issues, to your physician for other health conditions and a financial advisor for retirement planning. I want you to always receive the best services.

What kind of credentials does a life coach have?

Coaching is a relatively new and unlicensed field. Buyer Beware! Psychological services can take us from feeling bad to feeling OK, and health insurance pays for these most valuable services, but not for personal growth. Fulfilling your life dreams, becoming the best you can be is not a covered health care benefit.

Thus many helping individuals created coaching services. Some focus on specific types of people: executives, retirees or those looking for relationships. Others focus on business development and organizations. Some coaches have joined The International Coaching Federation, but there are other organizations and, to date, they offer no licensing. Now some universities and leadership programs are offering coaching programs.

Be cautious. You could get a coach with only a high school diploma, an attorney who thinks he has people skills, a mother who sets herself up as a child expert, an engineer who feels he’s a relationship expert, or a religious person who thinks she knows the truth. And, if you’re lucky all of theses people could be great natural helpers. Hire the best.

Why do you charge so much for your services?

Wow, $3000 for three months! Yes, lifestyle coaching is a luxury to some, but not more than many would spend on a vacation. And for some, the high of a vacation only lasts until the first day back in their chosen lifestyle. Now what price would you put on more permanent happiness? You decide. Keep in mind the first telephone session is free.

Special Offer: Right now coaching services are half price... $1500 which can be spread over four months in an individually designed program to meet your time schedule. Call 941-778-8356 for further information.

What do I need to get started?

All you need is a desire to live better, a telephone and money for my fees. Simple.

Are your services confidential?

Yes, unless I am court-ordered to divulge information about you, I will hold your information private. If I feel you need psychiatric or psychological services I will refer you. If you are in danger of harming yourself or others I will contact the appropriate agencies. Sometimes, just as when I saw married individuals separately, I think there might be a benefit to include your spouse or significant other. Why not, if they are part of your life dream? And sometimes I ask my clients for testimonials regarding the helpfulness of my coaching. That is your choice, of course.

Am I guaranteed success?

No, but if you are not satisfied with my coaching, I will refund your money for any unused sessions at any time. Remember, I intend to have you meet all your goals, be happy. Now I would call that great success.
